How do we calculate your carbon footprint?

Gen0 has a broad experience in this field and can help you to calculate the carbon footprint of your organisation based on the GHG Protocol or the ISO 14064 standard. The Greenhouse Gas Protocol defines GHG emissions under 3 different scopes.

Scope 1

It includes direct emissions of GHGs from the organisation’s operations within the organisation’s boundary. These can include combustion on fossil fuels in the site or in the fleet, fugitive emissions from refrigerants, and other process emissions.

Scope 2

It includes the indirect emissions from the consumption of electricity, steam, heat, cooling, etc. that are imported into the site. They are considered indirect emissions because they are a consequence of activities of the reporting organisation but actually occur at sources owned or controlled by another organisation, typically the electricity generator.

Scope 3

It includes indirect upstream and downstream emissions from suppliers and clients, raw materials, final use of goods, transport emissions from vehicles that are not owned by the organisation (flights, trains, employees’ cars), etc.
